February is Carnival season in Europe and Venice is a magic place where you can have a crazy party.  

Streets are crowded with people wearing rococo costumes and traditional Venetian masks, in ancient houses there are concerts and dances, Venezia is alive, it's not Disneyland.

Participate in the Carnival of Venice is an unforgettable experience that everyone, sooner or later, should live.

If you don't want to be taken for a tourist, you should drink coffee as and when we (Italians) do.
First of all...
1. We just say "un caffé" that means an espresso coffee.
2. We have fantasy, but not when we order a coffee. 
There are some regional exceptions to the espresso:
 caffè lungo/ristretto (if you desider more or less water);
 caffè macchiato (with a dash of milk);
 caffè corretto (with a slug of grappa, or anice, or brandy not vodka);
 caffè freddo (iced espresso).
In Naples you can impress the locals by asking for un caffè alla nocciola (with hazelnut cream) and a Turin you may order un marocchino (espresso in a small glass with plain chocolate, a blob of frothed milk and cocoa powder).
Please choose only one of them and remember that: in Naples coffee is black, short, pre-sugared and hot, very hot.

3. You can drink cappuccino, or caffellatte only in the morning and never, never, never during a meal.

 For us, coffee is not a beverage, but a ritual! It 'a real massage for the  spirit...you will not be surprised if the cup is small, it is able to contain a precious nectar, black, very hot, heady scent, a blend that will stimulate your taste.
